What Neal is a smile that you can not really define that and not even remotely like those that Peter is accustomed to see him in the face.
curve is a kind of sketchy, slipped over her mouth to mask the nuances of disappointment, however, the law clearly in the eye, just before they hatch and leave the lips that the voice is to accuse him openly.
"I've never lied." He says looking into his eyes, across the desk, locked both in the office of Burke, at times, 'the impression of being built in a different world - a world where the good guys always win and the people who mind ends up behind bars.
Yet Peter is sitting there.
And he lied.
"I've done. You lied to me, Peter. " continues to repeat the eyes of a con man and maybe Peter is deeply grateful that I do not really hear those words because they sound different on the lips of Neal, sound like the cry of a pained by his vice confidence same teeth. It is not a nice picture, it is not even feeling guilty about something that had the right to do.
Lying to Neal.
He did it for him, basically. You
This is the bullshit that was repeated last night, when asked Diana to meet in his apartment to discuss the music box and everything that surrounds it.
"Oh please, Neal, you're lying by trade." Defend himself, peak (colpevole!), ready to defend his case by FBI agent, a faithful husband and oldest man in the room.
But Neal is not a kid is young and impudent, but it is no longer a kid for a long time.
"I've never lied to you ."
And it is able to silence Peter one sentence only, six words and a point.
This is a low blow.
For a moment, everything can be see the human face is the confusion.
"Maybe I made you come to incorrect conclusions," Neal resumed "but were never lies."
In a moment hundreds of thoughts have entered the mind of the agent, confusing, leaving him gasping: Neal has always lied to all but him, he has hurt Neal, Neal believed in him, Neal, Neal and Neal yet.
The same Neal that moves in slow steps to the office, to give it back and its mirror reflection faded on the glass surrounding the room, separating them from the rest of the world - that world of bad guys who lie and will end behind the bars, even if everyone lies -good and bad-before or later, for one reason or another. For
Neal.
Or, perhaps more for themselves.
The truth is that Neal is not to need protection, it is Peter who need to protect it and, whether he likes it or not, will continue to do so.
